  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F and line a cupcake tin with liners.
  2. In a bowl, cream together the softened butter and sugar. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract. Gradually add in the flour and milk until combined.
  3. Pour the batter into prepared cupcake liners, filling them about 2/3 full. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  4. In a saucepan over medium heat, combine chopped strawberries with sugar to taste, and cook until the strawberries release their juices.
  5. In a mixing bowl, whisk together heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until soft peaks form.
  6. Once the cupcakes have cooled, cut a small hole in the center of each cupcake and fill with strawberry compote. Frost with whipped cream frosting.
