  • 1 pound Brussels sprouts, trimmed and halved
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • to taste Salt
  • to taste Pepper
  • 2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1/4 cup chopped nuts (like walnuts or pecans) You can swap for sunflower seeds if desired.
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes Optional, for a little kick.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  • In a large bowl, toss the halved Brussels sprouts with olive oil, salt, and pepper until well-coated.
  • Spread the Brussels sprouts on a baking sheet, ensuring they are not overcrowded.

Roasting

  • Roast the Brussels sprouts for 20-25 minutes, tossing them halfway through to ensure even cooking.

Glazing

  • In a small saucepan, combine balsamic vinegar and honey over low heat. Stir until well mixed and slightly thickened, about 3-5 minutes.
  • Once the Brussels sprouts are done, remove them from the oven and drizzle the balsamic honey glaze over the top. Toss in the chopped nuts.
  • Sprinkle with red pepper flakes if using.

Serving

  • Serve warm and enjoy the delicious aroma!

Notes

For a lump-free glaze, stir it well before drizzling. Leftovers can be stored in the fridge for up to 3 days and reheated in the oven for maintaining crunch.
