  • 2 pieces filet mignon steaks (about 6 ounces each) Choose your desired doneness for the steaks.
  • 6 large shrimp, peeled and deveined Fresh shrimp for best flavor.
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter Divided into portions for cooking.
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced Fresh minced garlic enhances the flavor.
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped For garnish and flavor.
  • to taste salt and pepper Season according to personal preference.

Preparation

  • Season filet mignon steaks with salt and pepper and allow them to sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes.

Cooking

  • In a skillet over medium-high heat, melt a tablespoon of butter. Add filet mignon and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side, depending on your preferred doneness.
  • Once cooked, remove steaks from skillet and allow to rest.
  • In the same skillet, melt remaining butter and add shrimp. Cook for about 3-4 minutes until shrimp turn pink.
  • Add minced garlic and chopped parsley, and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  • Return steaks to skillet, drizzling garlic butter sauce over them. Let simmer for 2 more minutes.
  • Plate filet mignon alongside garlic shrimp and serve with lemon wedges.

Notes

Don’t worry if your sauce looks a little lumpy; those bits are packed with flavor! Leftover garlic butter can be drizzled over steamed vegetables or pasta.
