Ingredients
  

For the swordfish

  • 2 steaks swordfish steaks (about 6 ounces each) Opt for fresh swordfish if possible.
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil For brushing the steaks.
  • to taste Salt and pepper Generously season the swordfish.

For the lemon herb sauce

  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons fresh basil, chopped
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 lemon juice and zest
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes Optional, for a little kick.

Preparation

  • Start by brushing the swordfish steaks with olive oil on both sides. Season them generously with salt and pepper.
  • In a small bowl, combine the chopped parsley, basil, minced garlic, lemon juice and zest, and red pepper flakes, if using. Mix it all together and set it aside.
  • Preheat your grill or grill pan until it's nice and hot.

Grilling

  • Once your grill is sizzling, place the swordfish steaks on it. Grill for about 4-5 minutes on each side or until the fish flakes easily with a fork.
  • Plate the grilled swordfish and spoon the lemon herb sauce over the top.

Notes

For added flavor, let the swordfish marinate in olive oil and lemon juice for 15-30 minutes before grilling. This dish pairs beautifully with roasted veggies or a crisp green salad.
