Delicious Nashville hot chicken made effortlessly in the Air Fryer without deep-frying, brushed with a spicy homemade hot sauce, and served with pickles and bread.

  1. In a bowl, combine chicken thighs with buttermilk. Cover and marinate for at least 2 hours or overnight in the fridge.
  2. In a separate bowl, mix flour, paprika, cayenne, salt, and black pepper.
  3. Remove chicken from marinade, coat in the flour mixture, shaking off excess.
  4. Preheat the air fryer to 400°F. Place chicken in the air fryer and cook for 25 minutes, flipping halfway through.
  5. In a bowl, whisk together hot sauce, melted butter, and brown sugar until smooth.
  6. Once chicken is cooked, brush hot sauce over the top.
  7. Serve the hot chicken on slices of thick bread with pickles on the side.

Notes

    For an extra kick, add more cayenne pepper or serve with extra hot sauce.
